INNER RELATIONSHIP FOCUSING

“What is true is already so. Owning up to it doesn’t make it worse. Not being open about it doesn’t make it go away. And because it’s true, it is what is there to be interacted with. Anything untrue isn’t there to be lived. People can stand what is true, for they are already enduring it.” –Eugene Gendlin, Ph.D, Focusing  (1978)
IRF is a guided experience that fosters self-awareness, connection, and peace in your inner world. It combines modern attachment theory with interpersonal neurobiology and the classical Focusing of philosopher and psychotherapist, Dr. Eugene Gendlin. IRF is similar to Internal Family Systems (IFS), with more attention on the felt sense of your experience. Focusing isn't psychotherapy.

We'll meet via Zoom, and I'll ask you a little bit about a topic that's bothering you. Once we've identified the issue, I'll guide you with gentle suggestions and questions towards deepening your felt sense and understanding of what's going on. Participants regularly report movement on what's felt stuck, and a stronger felt sense of presence, flow, and openness as a result of the process.

Book ≤6 Free Sessions

To fulfill the practice requirement of my IRF Practitioner Certification, I’m offering free, 50-minute Focusing sessions (up to 6 per volunteer) on Sundays between 10am-12pm EST. As the sessions are skill-building for me and required for certification, participants are asked to consent to recording via Zoom and to complete an online feedback form within 24 hours of the completed session.
